A result is arithmetic on the gallons and readings you enter, checked against the targets in the cited manuals. If the gallons or the test reading is off, the dose is off by the same share. The calculators can’t see your pool, your water or your equipment.

Your salt system manufacturer’s manual and a reliable salt test take precedence over any number on this site. When they disagree with us, follow the manual, and tell us through contact and corrections so we can check the figure.

Test the water before you add salt. Then let the pump run 24 hours and test again before you add more. Check the salt system’s panel and a separate test; one reading alone isn’t enough.

You use the numbers at your own risk. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for:

• Damage to a salt cell, heater, pump, liner or pool surface.
• Water chemistry that goes wrong after a dose.
• The cost of salt, water, a drain and refill, or a service call.
